We designed Ask to help you get practical advice about a plant already in your garden. Each question stays with that plant, so you can return to it when you need it.
01Start from Ask or from a plant
There are two ways to start a question.
Ask
Open Ask and tap Start a new question. You can then choose or confirm the plant you want to ask about.
Plants
Open a plant from Plants, choose Questions, then tap Start a new question. Sow has already selected that plant for you.
02Record your question
Record your question in your own words. You can also add an optional photo before or after you record. Sow transcribes what you said, and you can correct the transcript before sending it.
03Review and ask Sow
Confirm the plant and review the transcript. When it is ready, tap Ask Sow. The optional photo, if you added one, is included with that question.
04How Ask works
Sow sends your question, the selected plant's identity, and any photo you attach to OpenAI to generate plant advice. Your earlier questions and answers stay in your journal for you to revisit. They are not automatically included with each new request.
05Revisit your question history
A successful question and answer become a dated part of that plant's record. In Ask, questions are grouped by plant. In Plants, open a plant and choose Questions to see its history alongside its memories and photos.
06Use advice carefully
Ask uses AI and can make mistakes or miss important context. Use its answer as a starting point, not a diagnosis or a substitute for local expertise. Check authoritative sources before making decisions about pesticides, plant toxicity, or whether something is safe to eat.
