Every garden tells a story, and that story deserves to be remembered. Sow was designed to fit the way you already work in your garden.
Most garden journals ask you to type every detail into your phone. That is difficult with wet or dirty hands. For some of us, it is impossible until we find our reading glasses.
01Start with a Garden Walk
Walk through your garden and record what you see. You do not need to describe what stayed the same. Focus on what changed:
- New growth and first blooms
- Pest damage or disease
- Work you completed
- Problems you are trying to solve
When you finish, Sow transcribes the recording and separates it into individual memories. It links each plant observation to the relevant plant. If the plant is already in your journal, the new memory is added to its history. If not, Sow creates the plant for you.
02Review what you recorded
Sow organizes the same memories in two ways.
Walks
The Walks screen keeps each Garden Walk as a chronological collection of everything you noticed during that walk. Record for as long as you want. Most Garden Walks are about 1 to 2 minutes.
Plants
The Plants screen collects every memory linked to a plant, so you can see how it changes over time. You can open and edit any memory later.
03Add your photographs
When a memory does not have a photo, Sow uses a built-in illustration where one is available, or a simple botanical placeholder. This keeps a new walk from looking empty. We recommend replacing each illustration with a photograph as you go. You can take a new photo or choose one from your photo library.
